Black Birch Homes and Design was founded by husband-and-wife team Brooks and Jill Rolling with a simple belief: building a home should be as personal as living in one. By combining thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and a hands-on approach, we create custom homes that feel functional, beautiful, and deeply personal. Every project is guided by collaboration, care, and attention to detail, resulting in spaces designed for everyday living and the moments that matter most.

Brooks Rolling

Owner & Builder

With more than 20 years of experience in homebuilding and as a proud member of the HBA, Brooks brings a hands-on approach to every project. He works closely with clients, trade partners, and vendors, ensuring each home is crafted with quality, care, and lasting value. Known for his integrity and attention to detail, Brooks helps guide each project from the earliest conversations through completion, creating homes that reflect each client’s vision while delivering craftsmanship that exceeds expectations.

Jill Rolling

Owner & Principal Creative

An award-winning designer with more than a decade of experience specializing in new construction homes, Jill is passionate about helping clients create homes that blend function with beauty. She guides clients through everything from space planning and selections to furnishings and finishing touches, ensuring each detail contributes to a cohesive vision. Her approach is collaborative and intentional, resulting in homes that balance timeless design with the comfort, warmth, and functionality of everyday living.

    With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Susan plays an essential role in keeping every project running smoothly behind the scenes. Having worked alongside Brooks since 2012, she brings a deep understanding of the building process and a genuine commitment to creating a positive experience for every client. Known for her organization, reliability, and care for others, Susan helps ensure each project is supported with the same attention and thoughtfulness that define the Black Birch approach.

With more than a decade of experience in residential construction and a degree in Building Science, he works closely with trade partners and clients throughout the building process to help bring each home to life. His strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to doing things right ensure every home is built to the high standards Black Birch is known for.
